One important thing you should learn while taking Pilates is how to connect to your abdominal muscles. Knowing how to do this correctly will also help you hold your head and shoulders up when you are on your back for exercises. This is where your core control comes in. When you know how to do this well you can do all the exercises better. If you have neck or shoulder pain, please be careful. If your head gets tired when you are holding it up, simply set it down and pick it back up again after a brief break. Please listen to your body when doing any exercise. If it hurts do not do it.
